Megan and I had the privilege to attend Global-Action Project’s end of the year screening last night and we were so impressed with the youth producers, the performances and their films that this week’s Worth Wednesday is dedicated to them and the great work they do.
Global-Action Project’s mission is to work with young people most affected by injustice to build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to create media for community power, cultural expression, and political change. Last night, we watched 4 short films that explored discrimination, gentrification, immigration and sexuality. What’s more powerful is that all 4 films were produced, directed and filmed by the students themselves. Meganda Films supports organizations and individuals who use media as a tool for empowerment and to tell the stories that are often ignored.
Global Action-Project is celebrating their 20th anniversary next week and we encourage you to attend and witness for yourself the amazing work of their youth and our future leaders! Be on the lookout for future collaboration between Meganda Films and Global-Action Project!
