The hot summer days are slowly coming to an end… You might ask yourself, what are some fun end of the summer things to do? We highly recommend checking out Movie in the Park. Here in NYC there are a couple of different places you can go to before summer comes to an end: Pier 63, Pier I (in Riverside Park South), Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Little Bay Park to name a few. But our favorite is Out Door Cinema at Socrates Sculpture Park in Astoria. Outdoors, great films, great views, and it’s FREE. All you need: a picnic blanket or folding chair and to enjoy the flick.
Socrates Sculpture Park and sample regional cuisine from neighborhood
restaurants, picnic on the grass as the sun sets over the city, enjoy
performances by local musicians and dancers and, as the sky darkens, see
exceptional international films on a large-format screen – all set against the
spectacular backdrop of the Manhattan skyline.
We thought this would be a great Worthy Wednesday because it takes place on… WEDNESDAY nights! The free films will be shown until August 24th, so if you can’t make it this Wednesday try next, or check out a local Movie in the Park in your neighborhood.
