We are happy to annouce our Special Guest Artist Via Martin.
Via Martin was born in Hannover, Germany, to a German father and a Spanish mother. Living between two countries and between two cultures wasn’t always easy but looking back Via feels very blessed for her upbringing. In the words of Via Martin:
Rock, Pop and Soul tunes always filled our home when I was younger, and I developed a passion for music and singing pretty early. Because of my multilingual upbringing, I can sing in German and Spanish – and that definitely gives me an edge, and artistic range based in several cultures.
I always loved music and everything that had to do with it. I really wanted to take piano lessons, but since my family couldn’t afford them, I was eager to find another avenue to express my talent. I joined the local community choir, which became my first stage. Being on stage felt natural and right – I immediately knew I had found my place.
Once I arrived in New York, I went to the basics and started hustling contacts, going to auditions, performing at various shows- trying to get noticed. I finally met a vocal coach, Darryl Walker (a man of great inspiration), with whom I started working on my vision and project. I realized then, that I had a lot to learn.
A few months after putting all my thoughts to paper and into songs, I was introduced to Grammy Award Winning Engineer and Producer Steve Pageot, with whom i started recording my demo. Working with Steve taught me alot about engineering and production of vocals, that shortly after i decided to create my own home recording studio. I needed to have the freedom to record whenever I was inspired, which has helped me tremendously in developing my own sound and vision, and that’s what got the ball rolling.
I started taking on a variety of projects with different producers. Two of my songs “I Am” and “What You Need” were aired on ABC’s All My Children and the Soap Network. Another song “My Desire”, which I collaborated with canadian producer L-Precise, was signed to a music placement company here in New York. Currently I’m in the process of releasing a mixtape in Germany with DJ Mad Dogg and Mirko Crazytoones, who have created a small following for me by playing my songs on their radio show.
I continue writing and producing more material and hope to find somebody along the way, that believes in my product as much as I do! I’m always looking for new opportunities and ways to get my music heard. At the end of the day I want to bring my music to the people, I want them to get excited about me and my music, go to the stores to buy my records and come to my shows to see me perform.
A dream is a dream, they sure do come true. I can see it so clear can you see it too???
