MAKOSSA BROOKLYN COOKOUT Saturday, September 1st, 2012 | 2-10pm
SEASON FINALE: Labor Day Edition! …
We danced our way thru a heatwave in June (and survived). We engaged in battle with rainstorms in July (and won). And now it’s time to close out this crazy summer properly. This is your last chance to experience the magic that is Makossa until next year. Come join us in the Brooklyn Tap House courtyard for what promises to be another doozy.
2012 marks the Makossa Brooklyn Cookout entering its third consecutive summer. Still considered one of the best outdoor summer soirees in Brooklyn, DJ Wonway Posibul of Latin Soul Brothers fame brings his famous Makossa sound from San Francisco to NYC to create a bi-coastal vibe like none other. The monthly summer cookouts have garnered a multitude of acclaim and success in its birthplace, the backyard of Fresthetic, a boutique / gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This year, we go bigger and better…with a lot more beer.
Music by residents DJ WONWAY POSIBUL (Latin Soul Brothers / ThinkBeat Radio – SF) DJ TARA (Rare Form – NYC) DJ SHINOBI SHAW (Rare Form – NYC) with special guests DJ PARLER (Up To Par / Samplology – NYC) DJ SHAWN DUB (Life On Mars / Private Eyes – OAK / LA / NYC) hosted by DEE PHUNK (Rare Form / Trees for Breakfast – NYC)
